Read this entry with one caveat

The handbook's bus section mentions devices only to say not to extend them out of a window, so it tells us nothing about whether phones may be used on the bus.

Period by period

2 of 6 not yet verified

Each row is either something this district’s own document says, or an explicit admission that we have not found it. We never infer one period from another. Passing time, lunch and study hall, the three periods the statute never mentions, are marked with an amber rule.Q8

How phones are stored

A local choice, not a state one

Varies by school

Different schools in the district use different storage methods.

"Keep the device secured in a backpack, locker, or other approved storage location throughout the school day."

What happens if the rule is broken

A cell phone violation is a Section 2 Code of Conduct offence: one day of after-school detention for a first offence, two days for a second, three days for a third, and in-school or out-of-school suspension beyond that. Earbuds and headphones are listed separately as a Section 3 offence.

Asking for an exception

The statute names what a policy must accommodate

We have not found this district’s exception procedure. Not yet verified

The statute itself names circumstances a policy must accommodate, including an IEP, a 504 plan, a documented health plan, translation needs, certain caregiving responsibilities, and emergencies.s.2.b(3)-(5)

PCTVS maintains a bell-to-bell expectation regarding personal internet-enabled devices. Bell-to-bell refers to the period beginning when the school day starts and continuing until the dismissal bell, including passing periods, lunch periods, and all other times during the academic day.
